I'm starting a blog about letter writing, calligraphy, and creativity.

I thought I'd begin by sharing a calligraphic mark I made using my initials. Maybe it will become my logo. Too early to tell just yet.

I'm hoping to be able to get some semblance of my creative process down in the hopes of better understanding and harnessing it. I could just keep a notebook but there's something about an open declaration in starting a blog that implies a sense of accountablility. If you're reading this, I'd like to think that I'm accountable to you, my audience.

An enthusiast at heart, I'm hoping to share with you the people, things, and events that inspire my work. I'll be drawing from personal memories, my panoply of ephemera, books, and past and current projects.

Am I trying to revive the dying art of letter writing? Not really. But I do want to tell you why it's so important to me and why I'm sad to see it go.

Another blog about creativity? Sure, why not. I believe that every person trying to hew a livelihood in a creative field has something unique to say. I will hedge this by saying -- I could be entirely WRONG.

So -- here I am, there you are. Let's get this thing rolling, shall we?
